Question regarding feature request 3599
My organization does a lot of remote billing and as such we have found that we can save a great deal of time if the 'signed' status was displayed in the account module. We have put it a feature request and I am getting questions on how long it will take to be implemented. The feature request is '359...

Read only, or less privileged sql user.
Tell me if this belongs in a feature request, Is it possible to use a less privileged user with opendental for situations such as a remote working laptop? I remember attempting to create a read only user some time ago and open dental demanding grant rights.

What hashing function is used for passwords?
I'm working on a secure client hardening system for Open Dental and I'm writing it in Python. I believe I can construct a launcher with a server side component that will allow me to better secure access to the database credentials. I'd like to integrate this with Open Dentals existing password syste...

How does OpenDental know what patient image to show
On the appointment screen how does OpenDental know what image to show? I'm working with the database directly and I only see a reference to the image folder itself but not what image specifically to select. Any answers might save me having to dig though the source code. Thanks!

Questions regarding claimpayment and payment tables.
I'm writing some reports and I'm having trouble figuring this out, perhaps someone with a better idea of how the database works can give me some advice? I have done the queries below, but not being a financial guy I don't know if what I'm getting back makes any sense. 1. If I sum PayAmt(payment tabl...

Problems with sigplusnet.dll
There are a few patients who's accounts I can't access due to an issue with sigplusnet.dll, when I double click the account it raises an error that follows. Sigplusnet.dll is in the folder and I have tried replacing it and I still get the error. Anyone have any ideas? See the end of this message for...

2nd Carrier in sheets
In setting up a sheet you have the ability to add [carrier2Name] to the sheet and it will inject the name of the 2nd insurance company as expected. What I can not figure out how to do is add for example [carrier2Address] or [carrier2CityStZip] to the sheet. Is this an intended behavior? Is there any...

Re: Problem regarding signatures and amounts
I've figured it out, I played around with fiddler a little bit and captured the actual request. When I query the database I get newline chars that aren't there when opendental makes the request. Oddly OpenDental seems aware of these newline as they are displayed. It seems the logic for the signature...

Re: Problem regarding signatures and amounts
Ok, further digging this morning. When the signature is signed on a computer in the local network (topaz or not doesn't matter), it is valid and remains valid when viewed locally. When I attempt to connect via a Web Service* the connection succeeds and I'm able to use most functions normally, but th...

Re: Problem regarding signatures and amounts
That is not the issue, I have attempted it in the manner that you describe and it still presents itself. I was told by opendental tech support that this is a known bug this version, and that we must update in order to fix it.

Re: Problem regarding signatures and amounts
Just got off the phone with tech support again, It seems this version has an issue with 'Invisible return line characters' being injected via the Auto notes functionality, we were told to update to the latest version to attempt to resolve this issue. Will attempt and report results.

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear regarding this issue, Just got off the phone with OpenDental technical support regarding this situation. Problems regarding appointment status
When altering appointment status to 'REV' on the 'appts' screen in version 13.2.32.0. A error is reported. The status changes without issue when you press continue but is there any way to prevent this from happening every single time it is changed? A simple workaround to suppress errors would be suf...

Microchipped cards? If I were to hazard a guess, the UK uses a "Chip and Pin" system that may be the culprit, was the card from outside the united states?

Problem regarding signatures and amounts
As I have read in the documentation it appears that any changes to a particular treatment plan's: Date Note Description or Patient Portion Result in the invalidation of said signature and require it to be resigned. In dealing with insurance companies, the amount to be paid for the procedure is not a...
