Is it possible to automate the creating of tasks for new patients?
When creating a new patient, we would like to have several tasks automatically assigned to that patient so we can start tracking the progress of these workflows directly in OD. Currently the tasks needed would be a "Verify Insurance Task" and a "Confirm Prior X-Rays Task" for example. These would be...

Web Forms - Transparent PNG logo
Hi, We recently updated our COVID questionnaire form. When we open the web form from our website the PNG logo now has a black background instead of the transparent background. This worked fine before. When we import a filled out web form into OD the PNG logo shows correctly and if we open a new form...

Win 10 - Windows Snapping while dragging OD not working?
Hi, We recently updated from OD 20.2 something to OD 20.4.35. We were using the built-in windows 10 windows snapping functionality to drag a copy of Open Dental to the left or right of the monitor and having it resize to 50 percent of the screen. Normally you would see a little graphic animation as ...

Re: eClipboard's Mobile Devices > Device Name
Hi, It doesn't seem that OD is picking up our tablets names. We have three Lenovo Tab M10 Plus FHD tablets that were released last month. They are running nearly stock Android 9. We've tried changing the name under System > About tablet > Device Name, and that didn't change anything in OD. We tried ...

Re: Custom Sheets Setup - Combo Box Font Size
Still experimenting... There may be a bug that could leave you thinking you have a valid signature on a Consent Form when you actually don't. For example, in our case we have a combo box on an Extraction Consent form that has two doctors names as selections in the combo box to choose who will be doi...

Re: Custom Sheets Setup - Combo Box Font Size
Ok, we found that the "height" of the combo box determines the size of the font. This isn't made clear in the manual. Also, upon closer examination the combo box seems to have VERY faint lines on the left and top and much darker lines on the right and bottom. is that on purpose? Maybe to give it a 3...

Custom Sheets Setup - Combo Box Font Size
Hi,
Is it possible to control the font size of the combo box so it matches the text size where its being used? Also, using the combo box with whatever the default font is shows what looks like a cut off box on the left and top sides when viewing the form in OD.
Regards,
Scott

eClipboard's Mobile Devices > Device Name
Hi,
Is it possible to change the name or assign an alias name for a mobile device? The purpose being to make it easily identifiable in the Kiosk Manager. As in "Blue Tablet", "Green Tablet", "Tablet #1", etc.
Regards,
Scott

Add more selections to the Gender field.
Hi, After some discussion with staff and friends we wanted to see what people thought of increasing the type of gender selections available in OD. I realize this could be a huge can of worms considering the 60+ and growing genders that are listed in many places. It seems two additional fields would ...

To be clear, the form looks fine when opening it from the patient's forms (which automatically shows the non-mobile version of the sheet)

Possible bug in eClipboard forms functionality
Hi, We are testing out the eClipboard and ran into a problem in a certain scenario. Everything works with sending forms to the eClipboard device using the Kiosk Manager (not testing self check-in at this point). They can be filled or modified and imported no problem. They can be sent back to the ecl...

Re: How to use a thermal printer for Patient Portal Credentials

How to use a thermal printer for Patient Portal Credentials
Hi, We would like to use the ubiquitous Epson TM20II thermal printer to print out the Patient Portal credentials for patients instead of wasting a whole sheet of paper. The printer supports an auto-cut feature that allows the patient to tear off the thermal printout easily so nothing needs touched b...

Hi,
For those signed up to eServices, Is it possible to receive a warning from OD that the "heartbeat" function has failed? Like an email, or text?

Scott

eServices and a logged in user
Hi, Question... from our knowledge, eServices requires a user being logged into a running instance of OD on the same machine that eServices is installed on. Is that true still? If that is the case, what is the least OD privileges that the logged in user can have so that eServices still work? Regards...

Re: OpenEdge PCI Compliance
Following up, might be helpful, When using OpenEdge's PCI compliance portal (which seems like a 3rd party service branded for them) We chose at the start of the questionnaire that we DID store credit card info because we are able to use recurring billing on those customer's cards. If you store Credi...

OpenEdge PCI Compliance

Re: Multiple copies of OD on same workstation?
I guess I should refine the question. Is it supported by OP? We have been doing it for a number of years but since we updated to 17 we have been having random errors and one copy shutting down.

Dating of treatment done outside of the office?
Why when choosing the ExistOther button are you not able to set the date on the enter treatment tab? For example if a patient has all third molars extracted we need to go in and change the date on each one.
