Jason, thanks for the very helpful responses! Are these meant to be called only by opendental "plugins" or also outside programs? They are really meant to be called by plugins. Yikes, I am a newbie ... so please bear with me. I am using php code that currently directly access /modify the mysql database. When patients confirm, or when messages are sent out - appointments, commlog entries are automatically added / modified. I assume I can call SecurityLogs.MakeLogEntry() by ...

Yes! Guarantor's account should be 0 (since no service was ever done) - which is what the account module shows. But inside the the payment window, the balance is negative (the amount being the cumulative amount guarantor paid to the payment plan).

There appears to be a bug in the Family Balances panel within the Payment window. We are a pediatric dental practice. My log is full of the Error 0x183 codes.
