I have tried it with an empty usb drive and with one where I was replacing the backup. It did not make any difference.
If you can't duplicate this problem, then it must be a problem with my database or computers, I don't know. I won't be using windows 7 at the office any time soon.

I am using the built into opendental backup and restore program that is part of the management module. It has always worked well in the past. Now, it is not working well. Your method is a work around. Yes, it works, but it is easier and safer to use opendental restore, I wold think.

If it is a discount plan such as careington, then they do not have any insurance. Don't set up insurance for that patient. I downloaded version 6.4.3 beta onto my home computer last night to check it out, and the update process left 2 instances of opendental icon on desktop, as well as every time I start opendental the program leaves 2 text files on my desktop. I am using vista at home.

Under benefits section, I had calendar year checked. Unchecked and it started to work. Even though I had the correct date entered under subscriber info. I would think that the two should come with warning that we can only do one or the other or at least a question.

IAP gives an unhandled exception error every time we try to find a plan. Also, IAP assigns a specific number to each plan in it's database, and I was wondering if Opendental could search by plan number, and not by employer? If it could I wonder if that would fix the other problem.

Go to setup in version 5.9 and click on sheets at the bottom. Highlight Rx. Click on copy and it will show in the box below. Double click on it so that you can edit it. When done, save it. Now it will be substituted for the old Rx form. There is info in help section on Sheets.

Jordan, I sort of like the way you have insurance payments entered. We highlight the claim and it shows the claim and all attached procedures. If you make a separate line entry for insurance payment, then when it is highlighted it should also highlight the insurance claim and all attached procedures...

Report for patients not seen in 4 or 5 years
Is there a report for patients not seen in several years. When I switched to opendental I imported all of my previous patients, many that I have not seen in years. Would like a list so I can purge their charts and records.

I can't get my label printer to print the label that has Patient name and patient number. It prints the name but not the number.

I don't know of any service that just does what you are wanting. Insurance answers plus includes as many fee schedules in their program as they can get, and will attach it to the employer plan. I just tried to edit a payment. There was one credit card payment for 2 children. Ther payment was split for each child. The wrong provider was entered and then set to okay. I tried to go back and edit the provider in each split, but it would not save the change.
