OD crashes when importing scanned documents
Wondering if anyone has had a problem when importing scanned documents into OD. Computer has intel i5 processor and 16 GB of RAM. Front office will scan a referral using the epson software for the scanner and saves the pdf to a temp folder, then imports into OD. Often, OD will stop working and close...

Re: File path too long to copy
Resolved the problem. It was an imported xray file for a patient that was sent from another office and encryption that gave the file a really long file name - rqmGoCdJ2hmdjR4VN6NwcLEBAN6d9mh_FyhBaH987QAC9NhenSkVzAyWqwAIv3zO1stdbUxbFvUTaKEso0don1usxyzmmAnKFytQ-Lu_GL7xa01a7I6t4yQ=s0-d-e1-ft - I think ...

I don't think the error is on the new server as we were running the manual backup on the old server.

Re: File path too long to copy
I will run the scan, but I am in the middle of replacing my server and getting things transferred over. One of the times I tried backing up to the new server, it didn't complete. It will back up the data just fine, but gets the error when trying to include the images.

File path too long to copy
I have been having problems with getting a manual backup lately. My nightly server backup seems to be working ok. Backing up to a 1TB encrypted USB using the manual backup comes up with the problem of not enough space or authority error. Usually, at the end of the day, I would kick everyone out of t...

I am hoping I am missing something that is just easy, but is there a way to have the patients co-pay portion show up on the schedule? We have the production which is the total fee before adjustments, but would like to be able to see the patient portion similar to the treatment plan

Dell XPS 18" works pretty good. I don't use it as a kiosk though, just mainly for the assistants to enter chart notes and to show patients pictures. Also have a surface pro that works, but on both, the tooth graphics are not as good. I do not have computers in the individual ops though.

Re: OpenDental on Microsoft Tablets
It works fine with the surface pro, won't work with RT. We had a problem with one of the windows updates that gave us problems. With the help of OD tech support, we rolled back the updates and stopped the automatic updates and it has worked fine since. Don't know if the that particular bug has been ...

Just use the schedule. It sounds like you are trying to make work for someone to do a report for. Simply look at the schedule and have the front office call and remind everyone a week prior to the appointment. Simple.

I tried that but it will then combine employees with the same last name. We have 2 employees with the same last name. Order By e.FName defeats the purpose as I want the report ordered by last name to make it the same as payroll order (which is ordered by last name).

In most insurance plans, build-ups are considered part of major or crown & bridge and covers at 50%. We have one insurance that covers them as basic and at 80%. Is there a way to change the coverage for build-ups for that one company?
Thanks

Looking at the reports, the daily procedures report is missing the tooth surfaces. I have been looking through the queries but cannot find one that shows the daily procedures report plus tooth surfaces. Anyone know of one or something similar?

Re: Query to see complex accounts more clearly
This query would be great as a report, hint hint. But is there an easy way to not only show the total insurance paid, but split it into primary insurance and secondary insurance?
Also is there a list of the all the data fields for OD available to look at?

I am probably doing something wrong, but... in creating a treatment plan, there is no place to put a tooth number for implants. So If I have 18 & 19 treatment planned for implants (same with grafting), there is no differentiation between them on the treatment plan. Any way to fix this?

For those using Apteryx, is it just the button in in open dental that opens Apteryx and creates the patient there? Or is Apteryx running in the background and you are actually placing the intraoral photos in Open Dental? I read the bridge intructions in OD http://opendental.com/manual/bridgeapteryx....
