Re: Connecting to OD from outside the office
Jordan, when you say "sluggish in that configuration" which one do you mean? We've recently been taken over by a dentist who runs another small clinic a couple of days a week, so I need to allow them access to our OD server to book appointments etc from their office. I was hoping that if their subne...

Re: Connecting to OD from outside the office
Sorry, I should have been more specific. I want to install OD on an outside PC (home/other office) and point OD at the database server and its directories. Can I do this with a static IP or should I look into getting a VPN from our ISP and connecting through subnets?

Thanks Jordan, could you explain how I can do that, I've tried a few ways with and without autocodes, but can't figure it out.

Re: After updating to 11.1 confirmation color is gone
I'm pretty sure this has happened to me every time I've updated a workstation since we started with v7. Took me ages to work it out the 1st time, but I learnt - it's almost 2nd nature to hit F1 when i'm done updating now!

Upper/Lower vs Tooth Range - Procedure buttons
Hi all, How do I get a Procedure Button to distinguish between Maxillary/Mandibular, AND the number of teeth involved? For our partial dentures we have 4 different procedures per arch, with different prices. They are: up to 2 units, 3-4 units, 5-9 units, and more than 10 units. All eight procedures ...

Print or email Lab Slips - default settings
Hi all, We're creating a new lab slip, and printing it for the technician, but not emailing it at all. When we click on Print/Email there's it defaults to 0 copies, and email ticked. Our staff have just asked me: " can you change it so the default is not ticked for email patient/lab when we want to ...

Planned appt refused by patient
Hi all, I'm going through the Planned Tracker to clear up the months-worth of Planned Appts which have built up while we got to grips with Open Dental and I've come across appt planned but refused by the patient. How would I deal with this in OD? I can see the benefits of it appearing on the Planned...

I wanted to automatically associated a payment with its corresponding procedure, so no luck there. And now I just searched "recall" and got the same message!

Re: Lab slips print but lab cases not written to db
We are going into today's current appointment and creating the Lab Case as per the Manual: "Lab cases are usually created from within the Appointment Edit window, usually as part of setting up the Planned Appointment, but also possibly from within a regular appointment . ", as we're not too hot on c...

Great idea! Was on the road to setting it up until Google says "Google Voice is not available in your country. Thanks for visiting Google Voice. Say the Patient's in the chair. We double-click on their scheduled appointment in the Appt Module. This from our SOP: In the Edit Appointment window, click on the Lab button. In the Select Lab Case window, click New In the Edit Lab Case window, select/enter: *Provider *Lab *Labwork prescribed (under...

Lab slips print but lab cases not written to db
Hiya, We have an ongoing issue with the Labcases feature in OD and wondered if anyone else has come across this: Our nurses are creating Labslips, printing them and in some cases there's no record of them in the database, except for a sequential LabCaseNum missing (i.e. LabCaseNum jumps from 252 to ...

Add Service Description as Input Field to Lab Slips
Hi, I'm putting the Labcases into effect with a view to printing the slip and sending it to the labs with all the info on, but the sheet doesn't appear to display the service which would be requested. Is there a way of adding the Service Description (field = labturnaround.description) to the Lab Sli...

As for the Audit Trail, there is an ApptEdit entry with "Delete for patient" in the Log Text, but there's no way of reversing entries on the audit trail... is there? ...should there be? (for Sys Admins)

Undelete Appointment
Hi all,
We accidentally deleted an appointment the other day, and now there is no trace of it in the database. I've retrieved the AptNum from the latest backup but there's no corresponding entry in the appointment table of the live db.
My question is: has the data been lost?
Thanks!
Stu

Pin Board not updating between PCs
Hi fellow ODers, We're creating Planned Appts in the Chart module in the surgery, and when we hit To Pin Board, the surgery PC flicks into the Appts Module and displays the Appt on the Pin Board, ready to be Scheduled. The problem is that the Pin Board remains blank on all the other PCs in the clini...
