Re: XCharge Experience/Feedback
I am currently using Payment Depot. Their customer service has been very good.

Re: Patient Communication Recommendations
I use Lighthouse in my practice and I think it is comparable to the other vendors. I have discovered that many dentists have particular features that they prefer and therefore choose a vendor that offers particular features. Lighthouse certainly works good with OD though.

Re: XCharge Experience/Feedback
I used to be an XCharge user but their total fees which started at about 1.7% moved to about 3%. We ended up moving to a different vendor and while there is no bridge integration the web portal process of the new vendor has been seamless. I'd just as soon save the $600/month in processing fees which...

Re: Telephone integration with Open Dental
I think that the annual or monthly cost will have to be weighed along with the amount of new hardware that would have to come with it. It's really easy to get attached to an existing phone system. Or will this work with existing systems?

Re: VOIP phone system bridge with Open Dental
I use a total VOIP system in my office with FortiVoice hardware and software. My total long distance service charges for 3 lines are about $22/mo. I've also looked into Weave but the $300 monthly charge seems outrageous - in addition to having to ditch all of my hardware. Weave is also getting some ...

Email Drip Campaigns
Does anyone have experience with email drip campaigns that would target users who register on your website? I see there are many providers of this service but I'm curious if anyone has experience with any of them. I'm guessing it would also be easy to export email information from OD for use in bulk...

Re: Yet Another Server Question
Kevin, Maybe I could ask the question differently: Being that I already own the hardware and I need a computer to function as the main database for OD, Apteryx and Sidexis, do I continue to utilize a domain with 2008 R2 or 2012 Essentials or just create a workgroup? The time is running out on Server...

Yet Another Server Question
I need to upgrade from Server 2003 R2 as it won't be supported 9 months from now. My current server machine is a 3 year old Dell T310. I am conflicted as to an upgrade to 2008 R2 or 2012 Server Essentials. Because I have 13 computers in the office I'm even considering a workgroup arrangement. The us...

Operations Manual for Insurance Check Entry
Does anyone have a manual to share that shows the steps on how to enter insurance payments into OD? EOB's can look very different from the companies and with new team members in my office it is creating some confusion. Participation in PPO's also makes the entries a bit more challenging as well. Bef...

Addresses on envelopes - can it be done?
We use a Dymo twin printer - one side for labels and one side for receipts. It works great for printing labels to place on envelopes. However, is it possible to print directly to an envelope with the patient's address from OD? Thanks.

Autonotes versus Sheets for Hygiene and Exam Notes
What are all of you using for hygiene visits and comprehensive exams as far as note entries are concerned? I see two good options really - auto notes and sheets. What are the pros and cons of each in the clinical setting? I'd like to follow a SOAP format.

Lighthouse360 users please respond
I need some feedback from those that are using Lighthouse360 with OD. Our practice has used LH for about 2 months. It has not been the system improvement that we had hoped for based upon these observations: 1) While OD gathers information clearly on the patient's preferred contact method, confirmati...

Re: Actual time spent for services rendered
This reminds me of what Howard Farran was talking about in his video when he states that dentists need to understand more about the "business" of the procedures that they do (ie. profitability). If we have information on the time that we spend on various procedures and the fees that we charge we can...

Actual time spent for services rendered
This topic has two parts: 1) Is it possible - like at the end of the day - to automatically adjust the schedule for actual time spent with a patient as opposed to the time reflected in the schedule? I know that OD has the ability to track when a patient arrives, is seated, and checks out, but can th...

Network requirements for XVLite and OD
Does anyone know the network requirements for XVLite if I start using OD? My new office currently uses Dentrix G4 and XVLite for image management. I'd like to have a peer-to-peer arrangement in OD instead of a server but I'm wondering if XVLite requires a server arrangement? Suggestions?

Supporting hardware for a new user
I've searched the forums for a list of the best or suggested supporting hardware and software that works well with OD. I'm ready to make the conversion from Dentrix G4 and I'd like to know what folks are using as far as printers and scanners and other devices that actually support the tasks needed b...
