program links

Is there any way to make program links local and not global? In a mixed win 7 and xp enviroment certain programs do not install in the exact same place (ie google chrome) I can get it to work on xp but not on win 7.

"C:\Documents and Settings\robot.CORP\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" on xp

C:\Users\robot.CORP\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe on win 7

Not yet, but you can try this hack:
