Access Denied....worked fine yesterday

Post by WPK » Sun Sep 04, 2011 6:08 am

I installed the demo yesterday and was able to access the demo database and am very impressed with the software so far. This morning I was hoping to spend some time further exploring but I couldn't get it to open because of an error something like "don't have access to any of the databases". I assumed it was either that the SQL database service wasn't running or there was a PW issue occuring but scratching my head because it worked fine yesterday. So, I uninstalled Open Dental and MySQL and re-installed using administrator rights but now I get the error "access denied root@localhost no password". What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
WPK

I just figured out the problem. I didn't follow the instruction NOT to perform the sql configuration setup. I uninstalled and reinstalled a 3rd time, skipped the sql configuration wizard, and now OpenDental works fine.

If it was a day we were open, we could help you to quickly fix something like that. It did not require an uninstall - reinstall sequence. Just reconfiguring it would have worked, but glad you figured it out.
