Fona CDR sensors?

I'm looking to purchase some Fona CDR (re-branded Schick) sensors.

Anyone have any experience with them and bridging via Apteryx? I've also sent a message to Apteryx to see if they can advise about compatibility with the Fona sensors.

If not Apteryx, any other software?

We have not specifically tested these rebranded Schick sensors with Apteryx, but there shouldn't be any issue working with them. The drivers they use are identical to the Schick drivers.

I would recommend downloading a trial version of XrayVision from our website, and testing out the Fona sensors using our Schick plugin. If it does not work on first try, call our technical support at 1-877-278-3799, and we should be able to login and get it setup properly.

1- When you buy the Fona sensor, they come with their own software. "OrisWin DG Suite"

The question to Open Dental now is do they have a bridge for this software? or are they planning to make one?

2- Schick CDR Dicom software probably will work

Are you in the USA?

...your timing is impeccable. I just received my size 1 and size 2 sensors in the mail.

They all work perfectly and are the same as Schick sensors, just re-branded for overseas sales.

Do you know if the Fona CDR sensors work with Patterson's Eaglesoft Advanced Imaging? I'm currently using Schick 33 Sensor Kit with Eaglesoft Advanced Imaging, but would like to to buy the Fona CDR's if they would work.

Sounds fun! It should work if the drivers are the same and etc... Unless anyone knows for sure from past experience, nobody can say for 100% certainty. But... if it DOES work, be sure to update your post.

Sirona sent out a letter to Schick people stating that the Schick CDR software is going away, and they are moving everyone over to Sidexis, which will have Schick 33 support. Not sure about CDR-2000 sensors. I heard Patterson is dropping Patterson Imaging, but forget where I heard that at. I am also almost positive that Patterson Imaging is written by Apteryx.

Yes, the Fona CDR are exactly the same as Schick sensors and will work with Patterson imaging.

However, the Fona CDR is two generations behind the Schick 33. You'll hate the quality.

Did you get the Fona CDR? I also have Eaglesoft and currently have a schick 33 sensor but I am looking to get a second sensor for my office. If you got it, did you need a Twain driver or does it work as if you were just installing a new Schick33 sensor?
