Scheduling recall from the planned appointment

Post by fishdrzig » Wed Feb 25, 2009 3:44 am

We are using the Planned appointment from the Chart module for everything except recall. The reason is because when we set up a planned appointment for lets say 45min Pro, PE, 4BW and the patient walks to the front desk. My receptionist will go to chart, highlight the planned appointment and put in on the pinboard, but the computer still doesn't recognize that it needs to be scheduled for 3, 4 or 6 months out. So she manually has to move the calendar up the necessary time to search for an appointment. So instead of using the planned appointments for the recalls, she just goes to Make/Find appointment, and schedules the recall from there because the computer automatically takes her to the correct month, then she has to ask me for the correct time etc.... If there is something I am missing here, please help. Thanks

Right, planned appointments is only for treatment planned work. Recall does not get treatment planned and is not included in the planned appointment functionality.

Ok, then when a patient is in my chair, how do I let the front desk know how much time I need for a recall without doing it through the planned appointment. In other words, if the computer defaults an adult cleaning to 60min, but I only need 45min next time? Thanks

I thought the front desk would always schedule everyone for the same amount of time. I see you are on 15 minute increments. How about if you switch to 10 minute increments and give everyone 50 minutes?
