Broken Appt Adjustment date

Post by atd » Thu Dec 10, 2009 1:17 pm

Bug or by design?
When an appointment is broken, the date of the adjustment is today's date rather than the appointment date. This is probably not an issue for a lot of people since you're breaking the appointment the same day as the appointment. BUT, we have some situations where we have to do the data entry after the fact (don't yet have an internet connection at some rural locations). So, what happens is for every broken appointment we have to remember to change the adjustment date to the date of the appointment. Otherwise, we don't really know when the appointment was that they failed. Is there a reason that we'd want the adjustment date to always default to today's date for broken appointments?

Also, I know there's been some discussion about changing the way broken appointments are handled (i.e. putting it in the chart instead of the account, leaving them on the schedule, etc.) Any update on what's planned? I'm curious. :)

We simply never anticipated that someone would be making these entries after the fact.

Better handling of broken appointments does not appear to be coming down the pipe in the next few months. We're tackling some rather large and important changes instead, like Canadian e-claims, better writeoffs, and accrual accounting.
