Setting Referrals Complete

What is the proper way to set complete a patient's treatment that was referred out for a specialty service. For example, if someone is referred for 3rd molar removal ,I select on chart the teeth to be removed, and that the procedure was referred. When service is completed by the specialist if I set complete it puts me down as treating Dr., if select service as existing other, it works, but on the chart the date that appears is the referred date, not the date the referred procedure was entered into my record as being completed by the referring Dr. Thanks. Set the status to ExistingOther with the proper date.
