Diagnosis

Post by yavuz » Tue Oct 20, 2009 1:24 am

Can anyone cover me diagnososis issue. If I'm not mistaken, open dental doesn't have graphical features for diagnosis. If a new patient comes, can we firstly make a general diagnosis for the patient or only uses together with a new treatment

Regards...

We call them conditions if you want to chart them in advance of charting actual procedures. Most people don't use conditions because it adds an extra step, but it can be done. You will have to set up some dummy procedure codes, especially a code for caries. The code might be C0001, for example (C for condition or similar). Put it in a newly created procedure category. When creating the procedure code, the area of the mouth should be surface. To make it show on a patient chart, use condition instead of tp or complete, and use that code.
