Clocking in/out for future dates

Post by jonesrdh » Thu Jan 13, 2011 12:07 pm

Ever since the last update I am now unable to clock/in/out for a future date. The reason for doing this would be pay day is Jan 15 and I am taking Jan 14 as a vacation day so I would want to clock in/out for that day and label it as a vacation day so that it is included in the pay period. I will not be back until Jan 17. Today is Jan 13. So now I will be shorted that time on my paycheck.

Is there a way around it?

That would be one way of marking a vacation day. I can think of plenty of others. For example, a note on today that you want to include the 14th as a vacation day. Another way might be a form that's filled out on paper. That's the way many offices require vacation requests. I'm not sure it really has anything to do with the current Open Dental timecard since we don't officially track vacation numbers.

All I ended up doing was going into security and resetting that I can edit my time card. We are a very small office and our boss uses the open dental time card to add up our hours. It's easier to just look at the total hours instead of looking for specific notations since we add notations anytime we edit our times. (this happens a lot since we will commonly clock out early so the back up can be run.) We are trying to go paperless and since there are only 3 employees our vacation time just gets put right on the daily schedule.

Thanks.
