It's interesting but it's not backed by any country or solid assets. I can think of several examples throughout history where a currency rapidly lost value and rampant inflation took over. I think it's rather like the Eurozone in that it looks great until something comes along that it wasn't designed to handle and then it starts to fall apart. The problem is guessing if or when that will happen and is it worth the ride until then.

If a patient was to try to pay me with bitcoin then i'd tell them to GTFO.

When there were sanctions on Iran, heard they were using Bitcoin a lot.
If paypal adopts bitcoin, not sure why it won't become the new medium.

I wonder how IRS is going to tax this.
Assuming Cash basis accounting. Be taxed twice?
1. Same as cash at the time of service? Maybe what the procedural market worth of the services?
2. When you cash it out for US Dollars, Get taxed on capital gains?

Hmmm. Not sure what to make of BitCoin yet.
I'm sure this kind of stuff will all get ironed out eventually. But might be too soon to adopt it just yet
