Phone notes without an appointment

We do not show comlog in chart to make it easier to read. However, if i call patients after hours i like to add a phone note. I made a made up code for this and would enter the note using this. However, we recently switced to only allowing appointments to be set complete, not individual procedure codes. So now i have to make an appointment to make my phone note. Any workarounds?

Use commlogs and just create a special chart view via the Show tab that filters out your progress notes the way you desire them to look.
