Just FYI to any going through http://opendental.com/manual/sourcecode.html who got hung up on the section titled "http://opendental.com/manual/sourcecode.html" ...
In Visual Studio 2010, to get the debug -> exceptions menu item to even appear, I found that I had to first activate the following menu item:
Tools -> Settings -> Expert Settings
