I have one question about your distribution model.

If the source code is open why do you give access to the compiled code only as a trial version, i.e. not the most recent version and also limited. is this part of your business model, in order to ensure that sales are not cannibalized or do you have other technical, copyright restrictions?

If I make a website that distributes the up to date unrestricted compiled versions would I break any laws (commercial or moral ) ?

The open source model allows us to not freely distribute the compiled version. You are free to post a compiled version wherever you want. I can guarantee that you won't be able to keep up with our rapid release pace. And since nearly all bug complaints are solved by updating the version, such users will be stuck dealing with bugs on a daily basis. Also, you will have to put together an installer. It's more complicated than just compiling and posting.
