Note Specific to Tooth

Is there a way to leave a note specific to a tooth without selecting a procedure code?

yes and no -

I use ztoth - forget the procedure code - which assigns the note to the particular tooth. All of the 'No Fee' codes assign a code like N4110 to procedures like impressions, tooth notes, or clinical notes.

It's a dummy procedure code that doesn't get billed, so I am not sure why it would bother you.

You can always place a note in the box under the chart, but this area is not audited or tracked.

Thanks Rick. I'm currently a marginally satisfied EagleSoft user and am strongly considering switching to OD. So I'm looking at things that are different. So far everything seems to be in OD's favor. I'm just trying to identify a few things we do all the time that are different to see if the different will work or be better or if the status quo shall remain.

If you haven't already, check out the threads on Dentaltown about switching from Eaglesoft to Open Dental. There have been quite a few converts as of late. Switching PM systems in the office is a big deal, but very doable - especially with proper preparation.
