Cannot connect to MySQL on Domain Controller

Cannot connect to MySQL on Domain Controller

Post by teethdood » Sat Jan 08, 2011 9:52 pm

Active Directory newbie here.
Based on recommendations from other users, I decided to promote the network from workgroup to domain controller. OD can connect just fine while running in workgroup mode, but cannot connect to the MySQL server in DC mode.
Client - win7 pro
Server - win server 2008
I can ping the server from the client, see the server's file shares etc ok, just not MySQL using OD. Any ideas? Thanks

Apparently when I connect to the domain controller, the Windows Firewall policy establishes new rules that would refuse certain inbound connections. Reconfiguring the firewall solves the problem.
