Post-dated checks
When a patient leaves post-dated checks, I would like to enter them into OD with the payment date the date on the check, but it doesn't allow entering a date in the future. Other programs (eg QuickBooks) allow entering a future date, why not OD. I'm left with either entering today's date or not entering the check at all until the future date arrives, which is risky. The check could be misplaced and I wouldn't know it was missing.

Re: Post-dated checks
It's complicated. We would also have to add features to exclude it from deposit slips, and options for how to show it on the account with the date filters.

Have you checked if Post-dated are legal in your State? In Florida, if you accept a post dated check you are out of luck and the State Attorney would not even bother to help you.

You don't have to add a feature to exclude it from the deposit slip. We just wouldn't click on it to add it to the deposit slip, same as I do now in QuickBooks. And the check stays in the cash box with a sticky note on it.jordansparks wrote:It's complicated. I would think it should be able to show on the account with the future date, again as in QuickBooks.
This way you know the money is in the drawer and you don't have to send a bill.

In New York, it's legal to write or to accept a post-dated check. It's only illegal to try to cash a post-dated check.abelee wrote:Have you checked if Post-dated are legal in your State? If you're actually interested in seeing it implemented, you will need to add it to the feature request system and vote on it.
