Auto Notes versus Default Notes

Post by teethdood » Wed Feb 27, 2008 8:43 pm

I'm about to setup either the Auto Notes feature or write in Default Notes in each of the procedure codes (Lists|Procedure Codes|Edit Code|Default Note). It seems to me that both methods are basically the same except the Auto Notes feature is a bit more interactive. However, it would require more mouse clicks than the standard Default Note for each procedure (after Set Complete, seldomly I would just double click on the default note itself to change the amount/kind of anesthetics for example). Can someone else point out the pros and cons? Thanks

You really should start with the default note template. It's just such a basic part of chartless operations. The autonote feature would be something that you use in addition to default notes for more complicated situations, like comprehensive exams or emergency exams. You wouldn't use autonotes for such mundane things as fillings.

Expand more on default notes. Is that quick notes or is that something different

It's listed on this page:
http://www.open-dent.com/manual/notes.html
as Procedure Notes.
