Hello everyone,

I want to allow outsiders to do some work within my Open Dental. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to prevent outsiders from accessing the MySQL passwords "obfuscated" in the FreeDentalConfig.xml file?

Maybe setup a VPN and screen share into Kiosk mode?

It might be a bit overkill for your situation, but the best way would be set up Middle Tier and then you just give the outsiders a URL and an Open Dental username and password.

Thanks for the response, this is a good option for me, especially since Middle Tier can run side by side our existing installation per the link!
