Appointment Confirmation

Is there a reason that Appointment Confirmation post cards sent is not recorded in the communication log?
We use primarily Recall postcards and less Confirmation postcards each month for recall appointments.
We have began to notice that some of the Confirmation postcards will lead to patients calling to change or sometimes defer the recall appointment. We then have no record that a postcard was sent to them when we due a search for patients past due on recall appointments. I feel this could improve the recall function of the program.
Please let me know if this has already been added in a recent version.
