Would it be possible to install the SQL Database on a NAS drive connected to the main server via LAN? My guess is speed could be an issue but still thought it might be worth a try?

I ask this mainly for security purposes, the NAS drive I can hide & lock away for security reasons / versus hiding / tucking away the full computer

Our Open Dental Server runs on a Mini PC Core i5-8279U, 127 x 127 x 53.1mm size, with 512 GB SSD 24/7, encrypted and with off-site encrypted Cloud Backup (worth 500 USD). Why bother NAS and all its troubles (speed)?
