Increasing number of procs per Denti-Cal electronic claim
Hi Dr. Sparks, Apparently Denti-Cal allows for up to 90 lines(procedures) per electronic claim submitted, while Open Dental (and EDI standards) only allows 10. Is is possible to increase that number? Is there an existing feature request (I could not find it) or should I submit a new one? TIA, Igor K...

Re: CLM01 in eclaims
Thank you Dr. Sparks, My apologies if I wasn't clear with my question. Are you saying that we can, with the current version of OpenDental, send to Denti-Cal and the claim number will be the same as the pre-auth received? If this works, it is great! What do we do after we get the pre-auth from Denti-...

Re: CLM01 in eclaims
Dear Dr. Sparks,
Has this features of overwriting claim number for the claims that has a pre-auth approved been implemented?
If it is, how do we enable it?
And where can we see the pre-auth claim number (besides using SQL
).
Many thanks in advance!

Re: PreAuthorization Status Recieved or Denied
Yes, thank you, we are talking about insurance estimates for preauthorizations, so we don't have to enter them every time.
I will take a look at setting up the denti-cal as PPO.

Re: PreAuthorization Status Recieved or Denied
Dr. Sparks, Is there a feature in OD, that would "default" to some sort of known insurance estimate per procedure, so we don't have to enter it every time? I suspect, there is, and I just have not found it... We deal with Denti-Cal, and pretty much know how much they will pay. Can you please point u...

Re: Marking Appointment Complete
Thank you Dr. Sparks and All, Dr. Sparks is correct, we are probably not the most typical office, but a "group" of "mobile" clinics, but we still need notes, reports, schedules etc. :-). If there is an interest, I would be happy to describe our workflow and gratefully accept your comments and sugges...

Re: PreAuthorization Status Recieved or Denied
Thank you Dr. Jordan, in fact, for whatever reason, we did not use the "estimates" feature. We will try and see how this works for us. It certainly appears to be a much cleaner approach. Is there a feature in OD, that would "default" to some sort of known estimate per proc per schedule, so we don't ...

PreAuthorization Status Recieved or Denied
Dear Dr. Sparks, We send a lot of pre-authorizations, and they get status of "S". When we receive the response we mark the pre-auth as "R" received. However, using just "R" does not give us any information if it was an approval or a denial. Would it be possible (and make sense) to add a one or two s...

Marking Appointment Complete
Dear Dr. Sparks, We have upgraded to the 7.0.33.0 last night and are seeing a different behavior than before. When in Appointment module, we can't any longer mark appointments as 'Complete' by using check box button on the right, when it is a future appointment. We get a message: 'Not allowed to set...

Patient search by Patient Number
Dear Dr. Sparks, We have about 14000 patient records and when we search for patients with lower IDs like 1 or 13, we get a lot of 13000 or 13567, but not finding the 1 or 13. There is no scroll bar or an option to sort by Patient Number either. Any suggestions how we can do that? Thank you in advanc...

Re: Default Place Of Service
Sounds good to me, thank you for testing it Dr. Sparks, I will call your support Monday on both issues, this and the Payment. Private pay payment does not keep clinic
Dear Jordan, When we create a payment from private pay, we choose Clinic. The click OK button. If you open this payment again the Clinic shows 'none'. Furthermore, in deposits, this payment shows up when all clinics selected, but does not show up when you select the one you selected when creating a ...

Re: Default Place Of Service
Thank you Dr. Sparks,
I will have to doublecheck and test the scenarios.
Assuming this works properly in procedure, i.e. in procedure place of service is the same as default for the clinic, should it default to the same place of service in Claim as well?
TIA,
Igor

Default Place Of Service
Dear Dr. Sparks,
When we setup clinics we choose 'Default Proc Place of Service'.
When we create procedure, the value of that field does not default to what we have selected.
Should we do something differently, or this is a known issue.
Thank you in advance.

Thank you Jordan, appreciate it.
Meanwhile, we will try to import the data directly into patient table (et al) via either SQLYog tools or a small C# standalone program... please let me know if you think we are 'wasting' the time.
Yours,
Igor

Re: Importing Patient Data
No, this was version probably of October 2008, and we are usually up to the latest stable version. We have SNFs giving us mostly paper/fax, therefore we have to re-enter anyway... so we 'dropped' the requirement. Now, we have one that is willing to share the data. They are flexible, and offer either...
