Florida Probe
I have a hygienist leaving within a month due to relocation. I'm thinking this might be a good time to think about upgrading our perio charting method. Anyone using the Florida Probe and how does it integrate with OD? Thanks

Re: CrashPlan Pro
Is there a way we can automate the backup process so CrashPlan will copy the database? AS I understand it, we have to "dump' the OD MySQL database to a folder so it can be included in the backup as the 'open' database cannot be copied. My thinking is to run the 'dump' program at lunch and at the end...

CrashPlan Pro
Anyone using CrashPlan Pro? I'm considering it for an off-site backup option for the server. I'm playing with the trial version and noticed that it will not copy certain 'open' files, including OD's MySQL database. One solution was to periodically 'dump' the database into a folder and have the folde...

Perio Charting
I just saw on PerioPal's website that they are no longer issuing new licenses after 1/1/13. Are there any voice driven alternatives? Can Dragon NS be adapted to work with OD's perio charting?
Thanks

Rx Printing
How does one change the position of the Rx when printing on a full sheet of paper? Currently, the Rx is printing on the bottom left position on a regular sheet of paper. What do I need to do to get it to print on the top half?

Electronic insurance payments
We're new to Open Dental and are still working out a few minor kinks. How is everyone handling electronic insurance payments? Is there any way to distinguish an e-check from the paper one when entering insurance payments? In a day's time we might receive a variety of payment types. Cash and paper ch...

Monitors
New user to Open Dental (switching from Dentrix G5 soon). We need to upgrade some CRT monitors in both the treatment rooms and the front desk. What size is everyone using? Any advantage of using widescreen in the treatment rooms or the front? Or is dual monitors a better option?

Re: Any Former Dentrix users?
Thanks for the replies. I appreciate the honesty Jordan.
Jordan, now that Dentrix has switched over to an SQL database, what would you say were the strengths/weaknesses of both? Have you converted the Dentrix SQL database over to OD yet?

Any Former Dentrix users?
It's looking more and more like I'll be a former Dentrix user. Just installed a new server last month (windows 64-bit) and upgraded to G5 over a week ago. We signed up some time ago for eCentral as the Communication Manager and Website/kiosk looked intriguing. We've had a tech work on our server eve...
