Dear Dr. Sparks,
When we setup clinics we choose 'Default Proc Place of Service'.
When we create procedure, the value of that field does not default to what we have selected.
Should we do something differently, or this is a known issue.
Thank you in advance.
Igor

Re: Default Place Of Service
It might depend on how you are creating the procedure. Is the patient clinic already set properly? How about the appointment clinic? Is the new proc TP or C? It might only set it when setting complete. In fact, I think that is the answer. I would have to do testing to know for sure.

Re: Default Place Of Service
Thank you Dr. Sparks,
I will have to doublecheck and test the scenarios.
Assuming this works properly in procedure, i.e. in procedure place of service is the same as default for the clinic, should it default to the same place of service in Claim as well?
TIA,
Igor

Can we add it as a feature request or as a big. I don't think it works, though it would be nice and logical, IMHO.

Re: Default Place Of Service
For it to be a bug, I would need a very specific scenario to test. Make sure that after the procedure is set complete that the place of service still seems wrong to you. And make sure that the clinic is set properly for the appointment, procedure, etc, before you set the appointment complete. If, after all of that, you really feel that you have found a bug, then give be a very specific step-by-step to duplicate. But even that is best done by phone rather than on this forum. It is frequently too hard for us to understand what you are doing without watching you.

Re: Default Place Of Service
Sounds good to me, thank you for testing it Dr. Sparks, I will call your support Monday on both issues, this and the Payment. We are running into a third one potentially, where when we create a PreAuth, when we create TP with particular clinic, and this clinic is different from the clinic associated with the patient, the TP still take the clinic of patient to the TP, and we can't change it at all.
Possibly, our interpretation of Clinic is different from what you envisioned, and we just need a bit more education.
We serve SNFs etc. For us a patient resides in a Facility ( = OD Site). The services are provided by a Dentist ( = OD Clinic 1) and/or RDHAP ( = OD Clinic 2). The reason we associate them with different clinics is that they have separate Billing Provider IDs, paid separately by Denti-Cal, get separate EOBs and have separate bank accounts.
I hope this makes sense. I would appreciate your advice here.
Yours,
Igor
