Open Dental.exe Quarantined by Norton Internet Security 2009

Post by rhaber123 » Sat May 08, 2010 8:37 am

I updated from 6.9.39 to OD 7.0.25.0 on my home computer. I used OD few times.
I have Norton Internet Security 2009 on my home computer.
I clicked on OD Icon on the desktop, suddenly Norton interfered and Quarantined the following file:
(this what I found in the Quarantined files)
Open Dental. exe (WS.Reputation.1) detected by Download Insight.

I was not able to run OD.

OD icon could not open the program.
I uninstalled OD, and reinstalled it, and it is working now.

An old computing joke was that the Norton Utilities were not named for Peter Norton, but instead, for Ed Norton (Art Carney), the sewer worker and Ralph Kramden's (jackie Gleason) best friend on the classic show, "The Honeymooners".

Norton was decent once upon a time a long time ago. It is currently junk.
