Had a patient today with multiple congenitally missing teeth and retained primary teeth. Charting existing teeth worked great (graphics of primary and permanent teeth are anatomical and easy to refer to visually). When we charted fillings on primary teeth, the restoration showed up in the treatment plan but with the corresponding adult tooth number, and graphically not at all (no paint). It was the same in the "big" view and the treatment plan view for signing and printing.
Any ideas?

Are you sure that you had the primary tooth selected when you added the filling? Even when you have the permanent tooth missing the primary tooth stays below (or grey) until you go to the Primary tab and change it from permanent to primary. You can also go into the procedure by double clicking on it and making sure in the upper left it is saying the correct primary letter.

I should clarify by saying that I started with an adult dentition form, marked the absent adult teeth as missing, then clicked on the primary tab and added the appropriate primary teeth. It's almost as if OD didn't recognize the primary teeth that I added.
I did go into the tx plan items and change the tooth numbers from permanent to primary and the paint showed up. It's not often that we have a case like this so it's probably not a big deal, but it is interesting.
Thanks
John

Sounds like the behavior from an older version. What specific version?
