I noticed when looking at the list of lab cases, open dental defaults the date to 01/01/001.
Is there any way to program this to default to todays date or at least a good pop up calendar instead of having to manually take the time to input the date range?
Thanks

There was a reason we did that, but I can't remember what it was. Looks like it could use a little work. But anyway, it's much easier to use the button at the right of the Appointments module, which does indeed prefill the dates.

Still planned, but getting closer. I always knew that the recent improvements would be a necessary intermediate step in the move towards automatically printed lab slips and referral slips. One thing I haven't quite figured out for electronics lab slips would be how to tie them to the physical boxes. Right now, I usually have 2-4 lab cases laid out on a counter waiting for my review and signature. If we move to an electronic lab slip, I want it to at least not be less efficient. I guess that means putting a computer on that counter. Referral slips are a little more straightforward in this respect.

I had just imagined that it would work basically like tradtional lab scripts but have the added advantage of keeping it in the patients record as well as going to the lab. I expected it would be more quick and efficient to allow the computer to fill out all the info about the patients name/age, the laboratory it is sent to, the office address, and the tooth or teeth involved. Then if any addtional info is needed it could simply typed in. The slip would be in the electronic record and printed to go to the lab. The printed slip could be placed on the same counter for signature and review if needed.
The major bonus may simply be the fact that you do not have to pull out another pad and can simply enter your info from the computer.
Keep up the nice work. Also looking forward to the new alternative benifit features.
