Adult vs child exam

Post by jonesrdh » Mon Jul 11, 2011 2:54 am

Is there a way of assigning a different fee between child and adult exams? They have the same procedure code. I am the RDH and don't deal with the fees much but we have just been wondering. Currently both are the same fee but it seems like more work goes into an adult exam. Thanks.

Yes. Create a new procedurecode with a suffix, like D0120a. The suffix will get stripped off automatically for claims.

Thanks Jordan. One more question - When I go to schedule an apointment there is a line in the procedures column that says Periodic Child Exam. When I choose this it pulls the regular periodic exam code over to the treatment. How do I assign the new code to this line? Thanks
