Android tablet possibly working with OD?

Post by faverymi » Tue Feb 07, 2012 7:05 pm

I came across these people last week.
We have been emailing back and forth and they seem very helpful.
I ordered one android tablet to try to make this work with open dental.
I think it sounds too good to be true.
But if it works I would like to use primarely as my kiosk and education station. Signatures maybe.
I think the possibilities are endless and the developer seems to want to make this happen.

I 'll leave it to you. I will report next week after trying to install the tablet.

That looks like is should work fine except for the signature. I think the tablet will interpret a signature attempt as a drag/scroll, causing the whole screen to move.

Those apps work well for obtaining more real estate for screen size. Not really for running programs. What works really well are the vnc programs like jump desktop and splashtop. Been using jump on my new transformer prime away from the office. Imo it is faster than logmein, and it connects in 5 sec, up and running any programs is a slam dunk. We've been using fujitsu tablet pcs for the last 5 yrs with good success, and now considering using android tabs via jump to review xrays, etc.
This transformer prime is slicked out to do what a lot of you are considering, based on some of the posts. It has already been rooted by the guys on xda and they are running ubuntu as well. If you have the stomach for it, the sky is the limit. They are talking about loading windows 8 on it soon. Then running OD and imaging software and whatever else is a done deal.
