is there a reason the backup path is global?

You can make the path local if you want, right? Some people share their database folder on the network. So those users can make a backup from a workstation. Obviously, this security risk is not acceptable to everyone.

any change you make on one computer holds for all computers.
It is not a major problem . I have my recep backup to a network storage disk that is mapped and then I backup once a week from my computer. I would like to send it to a different directory.
Also I notice that more x-ray mounts is not listed in either future plans or completed advancements?

Oh, global as in "same for all computers". I just added mounts back in.
