Bug: Family deductibles (5.4.21)

Post by alexei » Wed Jan 16, 2008 6:10 pm

It seems as though the program applies the family deductible to the individual.

IE: if the indiv. ded. is $50 and the family ded. is $150, if there is only one person in the family he pays a deductible of $50. Only if there are more than three people does the family ded. come into play, in that the fourth person does not have a deductible (the combined deductible will not exceed $150).

I think this is how it works, though it's possible I'm mistaken.

You can have either a family deductible or a patient deductible, not both.

Most of the insurance plans I see, though, have both (like the $50/$150 case I mentioned). I guess I'll just avoid entering the family deductibles, then, but it does seem odd.

Our first attempt at family deductibles seems to be somewhat deficient. I thought it was one or the other.
