How does it work?
Open Dental has a built in report (Treatment Finder) that identifies patients and can generate letters or labels to reach out to patients to get them scheduled.

OD report has its purpose, more focused on Treatment follow-up. We focus on utilization of Insurance remaining to boost revenue by providing real time remaining balance. More accurate and has better visibility for year & year end planning. One can optimize resources for recall based on actual remaining insurance and/or treatment pending.Arna wrote:How does it work?

Few observations from users:
1) Gave them better visibility for recall planning in remaining days in year
2) Helped find if patient has been seeing other Drs
3) If refereed specialist has used the balance or if anything is remaining for them utilize.
4) No need to waste time calling insurance or their website to find detailed eligibility data, if NO balance and patient NOT active.
5) Productivity of staff.

Sounds exciting!
Does your product know if and what procedures a patient has on their plans?

We use "CLAIM CONNECT" to submit our claims electronically from OD.
E-Claims:
http://www.opendental.com/manual/eclaim ... nnect.html
Ebenefits:
http://www.opendental.com/manual/ebenefits.html
for an additional $15 /mo they offer insurance benefits and eligibility , and the data is downloaded and saved in OD , in the patient chart, in the insurance section.
Some plans are very very detailed, and others are not. But you always can confirm if a patient has dental coverage and what is the max and the deductible
They also offer 1 month free trial. I tried it and we are still using it.

Yes, that is one way of doing it, by individually clicking multiple times on every patient chart to update OD.rhaber123 wrote:We use "CLAIM CONNECT" to submit our claims electronically from OD.

(Do not cover all insurance companies, but most of them.)
Alternative is to get a full report on a practice in few minutes. Know the full insurance revenue potential of a practice right way and plan for incentives and recalls strategy accordingly and run a proactive business.

I just want to vouch for these guys. I've known the developer for about a year now. His wife owns a dental practice, so the utility has its roots in a private practice.
