We are going to switch to open dental soon. Any tips from people that have made the switch from paper charts to open dental?

Keep the paper charts for now. You'll want to have staff scan them all into to Open Dental. This will be a fair amount of work, but your staff should be able to get through them all in 3-6 months. Of course, this depends on the volume of charts.

When we converted a number of years ago, we laminated all of our consent forms, filled them out and had the patients sign them with erasable marker, then scanned them in, then wiped them clean after each patient.
