Re: New Pediatric Feature
Looks good....it will make it much easier to add in families and assign ins to them! We have found many times the kids were entered and then someone forgot to attached ins to them....
1) In our office it works best for families to come at the same time and for one doctor to see one member and the other doctor to see another member, so most families are split up. One thing we would like to see is the provider setting set per child/member of the family instead of default to same provider for entire family. So you could add a drop down list to the right of the ins check boxes for this. You could have a check box for the same of all family members or be able to just select a different one and that check box would automatically un-check. I would like to see the primary provider moved out of the address and phone box in the main patient edit window to match this as well. The problem we have is we change the primary provider on one family member and then forget that if that box is checked for keeping the address the same, it changes the provider for all the family members as well.
2) Is this going to be accessed as another option (choose between add family member or add family like this) or are you trying to integrate this as THE new way to enter families/one person. I am not sure which way would be best except for the fewer options and choices the better...

Re: New Pediatric Feature
This will be an alternate choice rather than a replacement for entering a new patient. I just realized I should have switched my x and y axes for the top portion. It will soon look more intuitive.

Re: New Pediatric Feature
OK, the improved layout has been posted. Each patient now gets their own provider selection, although there is automation to keep them all the same unless the user explicitly changes one.

Re: New Pediatric Feature
When a family changes insurance we have to go in and change it on each member. Which can be a pain especially with a large family.
Could we use this feature to make insurance changes. Now if one of the insurances changes we have to go to each family member's screen and change it.
It would be much simpler and fewer entry mistakes if we could use this new feature instead.

Re: New Pediatric Feature
I've thought about that, of course. However, I think the best way to approach that is with yet another window that is better tailored to that purpose. Basically, it would just have the primary and secondary checkboxes for each family member. Trying to adapt the window that is posted at the link above would be far more difficult than just making a new simpler one.

Re: New Pediatric Feature
One feature that we use on the initial patient setup which is different for each family member (especially the adults) is the preferred contact number, but since this is mainly for pediatrics it probably would not be necessary in this window.
This (the preferred contact number) is something that we would add to the individual account later when scheduling the patient's first appointment?
Just a thought.
