Post by fishdrzig » Sun Dec 28, 2008 3:55 am

I want to load OD on another home computer so I can verify my backup, how do I obtain the Registration key?

Well, the boxes for the registration key pops up and won't let me in, so I guess I do

Install opendent using the install file from your backup. Then I don't think it will ask for a key.

The registration key is in your database. So once you install the same version of OD and restore the database, the registration key will not pop up. You may have to do the restoration manually as described in the backup page.

You have to edit the security settings under SETUP/SECURITY

Well, I simply called the conversion guys and they walked me through it, all fixed.

Our conversion department is not supposed to be answering the phone for this sort of issue. But glad you got some help.

I couldn't solve the problem on my own or through the forum so I called them, it took them seconds to fix.

Our "support" department is very different from our "conversion" department. I wasn't discouraging you from calling our support department. I was trying to discourage others from directly asking for our conversion department.
