task list use with appt. requests?

Post by Davison » Sun Jan 25, 2009 1:13 pm

Hi, I was reading the forum entry about managing recall, etc., and had a question how to use a task list for the following.

We typically schedule patients for their 6 month checkup as they are leaving from today's checkup. But often the appt. has to be scheduled about 8 months out. When the patient requests to be on a cancellation list for the correct month (6 months from now, not 8), how is the easiest way to keep a list of these folks, that are requesting say July 09, but have an existing appointment for September?
Can we tie that September appt to a task list that shows up in July? Anybody doing this with the task lists?
I am ultra new, getting my conversion this week. Do I get a prize for still running Intellident DOS? ( I'm surprised how often I have heard the old Intellident mentioned on these boards.)

I don't see an easy answer to that question. Our ASAP list does not have preferred dates or times built in. Dated task lists are not user friendly. About the best I can come up with is a dummy appointment in an operatory column used for notes.
