Emergency patient
Emergency patient
I am covering for another dentist, have a patient coming in and just want to enter her as an emergency patient. How would/do you do it? Thanks

Maybe mark them inactive when you're done with them?

Re: Emergency patient
That makes sense, how about when I enter them, is there a check box somewhere that says emergency? Maybe default to a different color on the appointment sheet?

Re: Emergency patient
In this situation, I have also set up new billing types - Patient of Dr. XXX, Pt. of Dr. YYY, etc.

Re: Emergency patient
I would recommend not getting carried away with billing types. It just makes the billing process confusing. Billing types are for billing and aging purposes.

Re: Emergency patient
I just list EMERGENCY as their referral source (or the name of the doc you're covering for if you do it frequently enough). Then I mark them inactive when tx+pmt is done. If you ever need a list of these people that you've seen, you can run a referral report and see them all in one place.
Re: Emergency {contact}
Is there any place we are supposed to be placing the patients emergency contact information. It would be great to see it under the pts information highlighted in red. I have been putting them in adress and phone notes Thanks Tracey
