The U.S. is moving quickly towards electronic prescriptions. Currently only 2% of U.S. prescriptions are electronic. But that is set to change with today's announced merger of SureScripts and RxHub, the nation's two leading e-Rx providers. The DEA also announced a few days ago that they are set to allow issuing electronic prescriptions for controlled substances. A national standard for e-Rx is imminent.
