Hands-less perio charting.
Hands-less perio charting.
What perio charting products are OD users using? We've integrated OD into our practice in many ways but our Hygienist still uses a paper chart to chart. She does it herself usually and that seems like a waste of time. There is the "Dental Rat" foot pedal but that seems really expensive. What about wireless headsets and voice recognition? Or, is there a wireless numeric keypad? What's been working the best for you? Thanks!

Re: Hands-less perio charting.
I've always had an assistant key the numbers and type in the notes while the hygienist dictated. It's a very efficient way to do it. Since the hygienist can work much faster, the labor cost is the same. An assistant can key numbers very very fast. Maybe 4 to 6 times the speed of using a pencil.
