Hi. I am new to this board.
I administer an OD dental office. Server 2003 Domain (with VPN for shared data files for offsite users.) Now an offiste user wants access to OD. Is it better to install OD on the users home computer and connect in via the VPN, or to use Terminal Services to log onto the server as a user (using the VPN) or is there a better way?
As an aside, I've gotten offsite users using Dentrix to use Terminal Services over a VPN and that seems to be OK.
Thanks,
Ben

Re: End user access from home
I think it's a little snappier using Terminal Services.

My experience is that connecting via Terminal Server is significantly faster. I've occasionally needed to connect over VPN (running OD on my laptop) - it works but is too slow to use on a regular basis.

we use logmein free...works great
Re: End user access from home
We use terminal services all the time, it works great.
I can even terminal service into my office with my Droid Eris, it is obviously is a little arduous from the phone but it works.
