Rotate .pdf in Images

My oral surgeon sends me a digital print of panos after implant surgery.
Of course I scan them into the Image folder.
However, none of the functions (move, increase, decrease, rotate and flip) work with .pdf images.
How can I rote these images.

I know that you can rotate with an external pdf viewer like Adobe or Foxit. Maybe you could re-save them using one of those viewers. A lot of work unfortunately. One other thought would be to find a pdf to jpg converter (I think there are a few free ones out there) and treat as a jpg - more work again.

jpeg's take up 10 times more space than pdf's.

Well maybe for text documents that use OCR. But you wouldn't ever need to rotate those. In this case, it's a radiograph. There's simply no way to compress without loosing resolution, no matter what format.
