Payments grouped/summed by day?

I am looking for an easy way to reconcile daily deposits and verifying at the end of the month that individual deposits cleared and match each daily payment. Is there a query that will display payments for a given date range and sum them for each day? I would want the query to have three different totals... Actual physical deposits (cash and checks) as well as credit cards, then a third for the total of the day (cash, checks and credit cards).
