Vulnerability in MySQL 5.5

Post by Hersheydmd » Wed Apr 11, 2012 2:53 pm

Kaspersky is telling me that there are two bugs in MySQL 5.5 prior to v22, and recommends updating to version 5.5.22

It doesn't seem to be critical. Do you recommend updating?

No. MySql vulnerabilities are only an issue for databases that power websites and that are exposed to the internet. Your database in just internal to your network unless you've done something really stupid life forwarding incoming traffic on port 3306 from your router to your MySql machine.
