Laymens terms on schedule

Post by jonesrdh » Mon Feb 18, 2013 7:13 am

We are curious to know if there is a way for the laymens terms to show on the schedule instead of the ADA definition. There are 2 or 3 procedures that we do regularlly that have no ADA code, however OpenDental requires one so we have to use a generic code. D0431 is a whole paragraph but basically we are using it for the Velscope which we do annually. There are a few impression procedures that are specific to a certain case type but there is no code for those and a generic description appears on the schedule. The progress notes and statement show the laymens term assigned to it. Is there any way around this?
Thanks
Jennifer

Use the "abbreviation" field for each code (not layman's term field) for what you'd like to see on the schedule. Despite its name, abbreviations can be long.
