Does anyone currently have this, or is interested in doing this? I converted into OD about 1 month ago, and I'm having my staff manually update all the addresses for our existing patients as they come in.
I'm thinking of integrating this feature into the account window via a plugin which would double check all addresses to make sure that they are valid addresses, and also handle proper formatting with proper abbreviations.
Thanks,

Sounds interesting. I see that USPS has an API for address verification, which I wasn't aware of before. If you do develop this as a plugin, I'd be interested to see it.

Melissa Data has a free tool for verifying addresses. Limit of 500 at a time, but should be easier than manually verifying.

Well, I jumped to a wrong conclusion on the free idea. The tool itself is free, but there is a cost per lookup. It looks like you can verify 10,000 addresses for $20, so not too expensive.KevinRossen wrote:Melissa Data has a free tool for verifying addresses. Is there a reason not to just use USPS? https://www.usps.com/business/web-tools ... mation.htm

That does look like an ideal option for maybe a plugin in Open Dental.bpcomp wrote:Is there a reason not to just use USPS? https://www.usps.com/business/web-tools ... mation.htm

This is such a great idea if it is done using the USPS but I am not sure about the use of Third Party Websites (Melissa) from a privacy perspective. Anyone with an opinion on this? The automatic checker plugin would of course be amazing.
